Few views of Pushkar compare to seeing it from the air , the holy Pushkar lake as a silver disc below, temple spires poking through the rooftops, and dunes stretching out toward the desert. A hot air balloon safari in Pushkar runs during the Pushkar Camel Fair, flown by an internationally experienced, fully licensed balloon operator, and it's one of the most talked-about ways to experience the fair.
Flights run twice a day during the fair, at 5:00 AM and 4:30 PM.
The full experience takes about 3 hours, with roughly an hour in the air, flying as high as 1,200 feet depending on weather and terrain. From up there, you'll fly over Pushkar town, the holy lake, temples, and surrounding villages, though most guests say it's the ground-level details that stay with them most: kids running after the balloon's shadow, women in colourful Rajasthani dress looking up as you pass over.
A standard flight carries 4–8 people. Children must be at least 5 years old and 1.5m tall to fly, there's no upper age limit, but you'll need to be fit enough to stand for about an hour. Pregnant women aren't permitted to fly.
As with all ballooning, flights are weather-dependent, and we'll let you know in advance if conditions aren't suitable for flying.
