Where and when to shoot:
Dune portraits: early morning or just before sunset, when light softens and shadows stretch long and dramatic
Village and rural backdrops: mid-morning, enough light without the flat harshness of noon
Camel and horse portraits: doable any time, though the animals are calmest earlier in the day
Camp portraits: shot right at the Swiss tents and cottages, or on the open dunes just beyond camp, for a more intimate, lived-in backdrop
